As My Name Is Doug

and the words are in the dictionary,
I call a shelter a skug,
a cavity a vug,
a wooden fruit tray a trug
and a sparrow a sprug.

Shakespeare, not me,
said a drudge is a drug.

Instead of 'in the can'
I'll say 'in the jug'
and even 'jugged sardines'.

For pole, ear and handle,
I will use lug.

I'm happy that a wig is a rug,
and
that you can put bear on the end of bug.

I scanned my wordbook for endings in -ug.
A gnu there is, but no gnug.
