Armistice Poem by Captain Jack Sparrow

Armistice

It's over now, their coming home
Home from the perils of war.
Four whole years of killing each other
In foreign lands afar.

Their leaving all those trenches,
Plagued by death and fear.
But also their sanctuary,
For all of four long years.

No more guns make thunder,
Or shatter the human form.
No more blood or gas clouds,
Sights that once were the norm.

They'll question if it was worth it all,
Or what was the actual gain.
For what was all the killing for,
Which has left them with all this pain.

Well at least we know there's one good thing,
That will result from all of this.
Wars like this can't happen again,
Is mankind's only wish.
