Aren't You Naughty? Poem by Kamalakar Arakala

Aren't You Naughty?

When dad says time out
Often, of late, day in and day out

When you get into tantrums
Leaving all around you in doldrums

Dad's scares
Mom's stares
Your looks of who cares

You care
Everyone in Childcare

When carers can't recall a kid's name
Leanne says you know the same

Kids run to you doubling
As you enter slowly walking
And rapidly talking
With enthusiasm bubbling

When hungry
You refuse to eat food
Declaring you're done for good
Making Mom angry

When asked, 'Are you sure? '
Say confidently, Yes
And murmur, ‘I think so'!
Aren't you naughty, my dear Aazra?
Still, you are my Gold Mine!
