Are We There Yet? Poem by E M Krumholtz

Are We There Yet?

Can I sit by the window?
I don't want the middle seat.
My hands and feet are freezing.
I'm not getting any heat!

Junior spilled his fruit juice
And my seat is kinda wet.
I dropped my raisins on the floor.
Are we in Texas yet?

I love to go to grandma's house
And grandpa is the best!
They treat me like I'm royalty.
They don't think I'm a pest.

When are we going to get there?
Could I refold the map?
I really feel quite peppy.
I don't think I need a nap.

Will you turn up the music?
Bees have gotten in the car.
I have a very runny nose.
You think we've gone real far?

I've been trapped in here for hours.
Could I please just see the clock?
Hey, Mommy, are we there yet?
What? We've only gone one block!
