Arctic Gardener Poem by Ima Ryma

Arctic Gardener

The arctic fox dwells underground
During the coldest stretch of year.
Centuries old time sharing mound
Protects the fox through chill severe.
Fox families all burrowed deep
Are protected from harshest cold.
Together with their food and sleep,
The foxes manage their household.
Atop the mound is where the fox
Does deposit various waste,
Becoming fertilizing stocks
For lush gardens to be showcased.

In the arctic cold, bleak and numb,
The fox does have the greenest thumb!
