Arab East Colleges [aec] Poem by Abid Khokhar

Arab East Colleges [aec]

A. E. C. is the name of my college,
Say it an alma-mater, a house of knowledge.

North in Riyadh and beside Madina Road,
Shines this college, where knowledge we adore.

Gladly we learn and gladly we teach,
That is the way of glory, we reach.

Books in the hands and thoughts in the brain
Love of this holy land guides us and train.

Tradition of the past, and the personal talent
Coins us a real youth, not a mere gallant.

Respect of the elders, honour of the small
This is the way we conquer each and all.

So many hills and a lot of creeks
Chants our daily life and the desert weeps.

Science is the sense, technology is the hands
History is the lesson, laboratory is the sands.

Truth is the vehicle, curiosity is the mean
To search, discover, invent and glean.

Responsible in work, an example to all,
Make us service bound, and the people enthrall.

Slight may be effort but purpose not small
Let us endeavour whether summer or fall.

We are the passersby, it is a tavern
We can't forget what it has carven.
