April Freshman Poem by Dashaun Rashod Snipes

April Freshman

Rating: 5.0

April Freshman, new and green,
A month of pranks, a playful scene,
First day of April, full of laughter,
A day where everything is a blur.
The sun shines bright, the birds do sing,
But something's different, a subtle zing,
For April fools day has just begun,
A day where jokes and tricks are fun.
The air is filled with a mischievous air,
As everyone prepares to share,
The most outlandish, silly schemes,
To make others believe in their dreams.
From fake spiders to whoopee cushions,
Nothing is off-limits, no exceptions,
Weaving tales of absurdity,
To bring about hilarity.
But beware, for the joke may be on you,
As you fall for what others do,
But don't take it to heart,
For it's all just a playful art.
An annual tradition, a day to remember,
The first day of April, a month of temper,
Where laughter reigns, and tears may fall,
But in the end, it's just a ball.
So here's to the April Freshman,
Embracing the pranks and fun,
A day to let loose and be carefree,
For the first day of April, we all agree.
