Apathetic Past Poem by Nalini Jyotsana Chaturvedi

Apathetic Past

Ghosts from my past
When I was an iconoclast
Still haunt me to return
For not much is lost
In their timeless hour

Ghosts don't live in present
So how do they know
What I went through
And in the bargain
Earned too much pain

Happy memories to remind me of you
And sad ones too
So hard to get through
I still wonder how could I be fooled
To believe in true love
And that hope will
Always rule
