Any street Poem by Edward Lewis Davison

Any street

Beauty has walked in the broad light
By night and day since Time began,
In the broad road to left and right,
Free to the sight of every man

I was a fool today, and blind;
Casual as a dream she was.
And suddenly I looked behind -
I had let her pass
