Another Night On Cardboard Poem by Donal Mahoney

Another Night On Cardboard

There are good souls
who say poverty need not
always be with us

who say there's a way
to make it disappear
but how is that done?

So far they haven't said.
America needs a
roadmap with details.

If someone knows the way
to banish poverty today
they must tell us how

before hungry people spend
another night on cardboard
sleeping in the streets.
