Another Bible? Poem by Luke Easter

Another Bible?

Rating: 2.8

Just when I think I’m finished writing,
There’s movement from the spirit within,
As I sit down in front of the computer,
Still another new poem begins.

I saw a special on skinheads last night,
Preaching hate, violence and such,
They believe their doctrine is divinely right,
Respect? Their race are not getting enough.

I’m sure somewhere was a group of blacks,
Saying how whites need to take a step back,
While else where other groups were talking too,
About Palestinians, Arabs, Brits and Jews.

Please tell me where to get a copy of that book,
Because the bible I am reading has a different look,
Nowhere in mine does it ever suggest,
Jesus preferred one race to all the rest.

Apparently there’s a bible with a different taste,
One that preaches racism, murder, greed and hate,
In the hospital for a transfusion to save your life,
Plasma bags aren’t labeled black or white.

Does this mean I’ve read the wrong bible all along?
Instead of “Awesome God” I should sing another song?
I hope it’s not too late, I do not want waste anymore time,
Tell Pastor to cancel singing, “Jesus Is On The Main Line.”

No wonder the world is all screwed up,
Jesus never said drink My blood from this cup,
I have lived my entire Christian life in a dream,
The Winter Olympics proved there is an “I” in team.

Addicts can share bottles & needles when doing drugs,
However, sober individuals can’t practice brotherly love,
Someone better dial up God and tell Him the bible is a mistake,
Also let Him know Jesus didn’t die for the human race.

What other explanation could there possibly be,
I’ve never read in my bible “I hate you and you hate me.”
Still can’t find it no matter how many times I take a look,
Please tell me where to get a copy of that, “other book? ”
