Anne Hathaway's Cottage Poem by Joyce Hemsley

Anne Hathaway's Cottage

A long time ago in the seventeenth century
Shakespeare quoted...quite effectively:
'Sweetest Anne, take heed of my plan.
In wedlock when your arms enfold me
your name will shine as no other can.
Anne Hathaway ~ Lady of the Avon,
soon to be a heavenly dream.
Sonnets I will bring to thee
and when we reach eternity,
our spirits shall rise again to meet in
the Cottage which bears your name:
Showplace in the green Isle of England.'
