Animal Religion Poem by Poetical Analysis

Animal Religion

Consider, the men of today and what they say

Monotheism is an evolutionary
Bound, leap, transmutation
Found in a gene only the chosen keep

That this one, concentrated, idea of this single thing, pronounced a being
Living
Isn't anything more than an ancient animalistic dream

An echo of how we tracked or foods
Not time
When we listen to our moods
More than of mind
When shelter wasn't anything we wanted to find

It all, from East to West, beginning to end
To now, is a memory of how
Not that we envision a god, but how we felt
As we watched the elephant trod
How our emotions exploded in applause
All these humanized variations are frauds

Religion is an animal state, natural in form
Technically, a norm, at least for a time
A temporary measure, like digging the hole to find the treasure
That must be used, must be taken, removed
Or left to be forsaken, unused
And religion is this power abused
To prevent you from learning, as a human
How to choose, what you
Would do, and why, without the need to deny
Or lie
Just live
