Angel Poem by Edward W. Cousins

Angel

Rating: 2.0

She said, Atleast im smiling!
Must be why the sun is shining, I replied.
She stole my cigarette out of my hand.
Took a long draw like the wind.
Blew it out into the air.
She always has sleepy eyes. I adore.
Just enough flavor on her tounge
to make you lick your lips for hours.
The angels said she could take me
into heaven with her.
pull some strings so god will
forget about all the bad things i did.
She carries my heart across the desert sands.
Saves me once again.
I paint the pictures of my world
in words.
She paints love songs all the singers learn.
Mr. Brown said im with your ghost again.
Mr. Brown i know those feelings.
Mr. Brown the way you sing those songs.
You make me miss her when shes not around.
If i could sing like you, id sing for her
just as loud as a marching band.
Crazy hearts are the same.
Foggy mountain rainy mornings.
Remind me of your warm skin.
Its what kept me sane. No longer cold
and shivering.
The crows left my eyes alone for once.
