And Now I Am Lost Poem by Sarah Jay

And Now I Am Lost

Help me
whoever might hear my plea
I cannot breathe
And I cannot see
Answer
Oh someone who might hear me
I need someone
To help me see

I feel blind
The more I try to see
I become numb
The more I try to feel
Sometimes I wander
Through the darkness
All on my own
I have to confess:
I am not someone
Who asks for help
But this time it is different
This time I beg

Help me
whoever might hear my plea
I cannot breathe
And I cannot see
Answer
Oh someone who might hear me
I need someone
To help me see

My heart
Does not seem to know
What to feel
Or where it wants to go
I feel so confused
So torn inside
There are many paths
And I must stop my stride
This is the first time
That I am unsure
It scares me so much
I need to be reassured

Help me
whoever might hear my plea
I cannot breathe
And I cannot see
Answer
Oh someone who might hear me
I need someone
To help me see

I feel so blind
I feel so sick
I am lost
In fog, so thick
Where are the paths?
I have lost my sight
And now I am lost
In dark night
Help me
Oh someone who might hear me
I need you
To help me see
