An Unperceived Feeling Poem by Bradley Barber

An Unperceived Feeling

Ever since I first laid eyes on you I felt something
A feeling completely foreign to me
Something unexplained but still very much alive

A feeling of sickness when you're not around
A feeling of weightlessness when you are
Both opposites like hot and cold
When mixed an unstoppable storm is created
One that tears you apart inside

I feel lost without you
But very much alive when I'm with you

You're my drug and I have an addiction

I never knew that I could have a feeling as powerful as this
I feel as if I can change the world
But I also feel flimsy and useless

There isn't a moment when I'm not thinking of you
I can't sleep anymore
I can't focus on my own life anymore
Why?
Because you are my life
