An Open Book

My love for my Lord is an open book
A delight for those who take a peek
My love for Christ is mine, unique and special
But meant to be shared among souls
My love for Love and Truth is possessive and possessed
For I am a sole owner
But not Author who has written
A living endless book, still unfinished, needed to be hearkened
My love for Him, the Author of Life, of Love,
Is real as the abstractive beauty of an autumn summer
It does exist in the poetic hearts of all lovers
It does not have to be furtive but attentive
To treasure in all senses what Love longs to give
All, yes, all, in Love’s power
For Love’s nature is to give willingly
No holding back, which would cause Love to cease
Like the current of grace cannot be besieged
For slight confinement would cause loving hurt
All Love needs are attentive ears, focused hearts
Not causing pains but sweet surrender
For Love is so precious and lovely
Love Him tenderly for He is the only one.

I love to see the old heath's withered brake

While the old heron from the lonely lake
Starts slow and flaps its melancholy wing,
