An Ode To The Night. Poem by Sumana S C

An Ode To The Night.

This ain't daybreak, Roseanne.

The soft rays of the sun,
The dew laden wet green grass,
Covered with periwinkle petals
How will you find now, my pretty lass?
You know,
This ain't daybreak Roseanne.

This ain't the nightfall,
Not the sundown,
When,
The crimson red sun
Setting in the west sky,
With gloomy, melancholic eyes
Bids goodbye.
Roseanne,
Do the fragrance of lilies
Still play hide and seek,
In the dark evening of your cascading pride?

This is but the bewitching hour,
The dead of night,
The silent shrieks
Of heart wrenching plight.
This dear Roseanne is the midnight.

But can you see Roseanne,
The night also brings
Eyefull of moonlight,
Hidden behind the veil of obscurity?
Can you see,
The heavenly sight
In the bright shining stars?
Can you see this calignosity
Filling the blue sky every night?

The crispness in the air
Doubled with the chastity of the moonbeams
Covers the dreams of the day.
Roseanne can you feel,
The nights too can be
Pretty, wonderful and gay?
