An Invocation For A New Pair Of Slippers Poem by Liyo Denorte

An Invocation For A New Pair Of Slippers

i've been aged
a quarter of a century-
half of my expected lifetime
there u came to me.
on my feet
size eight
pinkish, under
dust coated toes
they say 'hi' in return
for they came into a new home
here's to indefinite miles
of walk
of climbing
of trekking
of swimming
of struggle
into the cacophonic world
of sounds and music
of visions
of lights
and astral elevation of hymns
a praise
an invocation
for a blessing
that is worth
a day
of not taking
one's meal
