An Ideal Principal Poem by Jaishree Nair

An Ideal Principal

Rating: 5.0

An illuminating torch bearer will always be in the limelight
In the frying pan he will be tossed in and out alright
His words weighed with mixed emotions
No doubt it may lead to personal aversions....

To find fault the rebels eager
To follow his lead the allies meagre
Never letting the hurdles cross his borderline
to reach the followers in his shrine.....

Steady and firm in his mission and vision
his deeds voice his noble demeanour
Verbal intelligence at his finger tips
to juggle the words to suit the scene

The rein of the system in his hands
A wrong decision can topsy turvy all
The knowledge perhaps an intimidating pall
sucking the juice of life if one falls

Beneath the facade his tender heart hidden
Presence of mind- his coat of armour
To be impartial must be his choice
To bond with the second family, his attributed attitude.....

Like a sun he has to shine
to spread hopes to the big and the small
With smiles to lead them to their dreams
With strong ladders to ease their ascent...

Awesome this task so grave
thousands of future enclosed in the palm
Many colourful plumes adorn his cap
Perhaps a few faded ones too!

stanza 1, line 3: i'd use " emotions" at end stanza 3, line 1: " mission" stanza 4, line 3: i say " appal/appall" is a verb, not a noun " appeal" ? ? " presence of mind" phrase: " the ability to remain calm and take quick, sensible action" stanza 6, line 4: i think you 'want' the noun " ascent" , not verb " ascends" stanza 7, line 2: " futures"
