An Escape To Light Poem by DILIPBHASKER MATHRA

An Escape To Light

Dark deepens every where
The death of the day is visible
Over the horizon like a
Malarkey malediction.

The moon is on the lofty hill
The sun is in the sea bed
The loitering birds only
Awoke on the branch
To cherish the dew drops.

The sky enfolds in black clouds
And embrace each other
After hours of loneliness
The faint shadows will emerge
And turn gigantic sooner or later.

The gimcrack that I earned
In my life is this loneliness!
The gain is only these ghastly memories
Grimacing them altogether
Like Ghosts in my nerves.

The busy path is deserted,
The foot steps deleted by
The rain sprinkled lately
And dampened little water
To several dried hopes of buds.
Yesterday my hopes were very different
So mystic to recognize
Erratic to espouse
Thus I transformed in to a recluse.
But today silence drenching me,
Mind drags in the depth of
Temptation to evade from
Dark to the light of tomorrow.
