An English Is A Push

There was an english to capitalise 'the midland sea',
in which, at Saintes Maries-de-la-Mer,
I once put a foot.

That got nowhere,
so poets englished for 'Mediterre'.

'Midland, Mediterre, whatever, ' they'd repeat,
'we just want to make 'anean' obsolete.'
