I tried to tell you right from the start
He was only going to break your heart, but
You didn't hear a word I'd say
You went on loving him anyway

Tried to tell you but you didn't hear
Your guardian angel I was standing near
You never heard me shed a quiet tear
While you where crying on my shoulder

Tried to tell you but you couldn't see
All the love you could have had from me
We're just friends our love could never be
Not while your crying on my shoulder

Now he's gone and you've lost it all
You sit alone while crystal tear drops fall
Amid your tears you don't recall
