An Advice Poem by Somanathan Iyer

An Advice

Restore your senses
withdraw the fences
Reach for others
with what you can afford
Help your might
for those in plight
Forget not the ones
helped in times
A sign of gratitude
enhances the magnitude
Pleasure in real not
from satisfying sensual
Derived is the pleasure
from happiness of others
strive hard in life
to ward off the troubles
bright remains the path
if the choice is right
limit your efforts
to earn for immediate heirs
greed not for more
to hoard for generations
brains they also will have
to earn their livelihood
