American green tree frog, I
Am just one of a species that
Is an abundant gal and guy
In the U.S.A. habitat.
In trees are where we like to dwell,
And do provide free pest control -
Tongue zap mosquitoes and flies well
In our food obtaining role.
Each year, March to October, is
When the guys 'honk' to the gals for
Announcing up for mating biz,
Resulting in new frogs galore.
Here at home in Lincoln Park Zoo
Is where I can be seen by you.
