Always And For Never Poem by Christine Lockehart

Always And For Never

What a naive young heart
To have believed what he had said to be true
Now she must face the unnecessary consequences,
The tears that stream down her once smiling, rosy cheeks
Now all she can feel is the compression of her heart
Her breath shuddering as she attempts to regain her strength
Her confidence and independence shattered

The one that re-defined perfection
Yet so cruel as to strip an angel of her wings
He'd promised her the world
He vowed that he'd be there always and forever
