last night, she sat by the fire
her dark hair shone, her eyes glowed
the news was all over town
the boys were back from war
the sounds of celerbration came to her
bells rung, music flowed,
laughter and love in the air
she waited, hopefilled and hurting
where was her man?
no one knocked on her door
not a single smile for her
no one to put thier arms around her
comfort her, love her
the fire died down and the cold came
how could she have known
that he wouldnt come back?
that she would be so alone?
