All That I Did Not Do Does Not Matter Poem by Shalom Freedman

All That I Did Not Do Does Not Matter

ALL THAT I DID NOT DO DOES NOT MATTER

All that I did not do does not matter
And all that I am does not matter
And all that others are
That I can never be
Does not matter

What does matter
Is who I am
And what I can do now
And in the future

What matters is not all the disappointments and failures
That have been

What matters is that I am still after all the years here now
And I can write a few lines
And see the light green beauty of the world through my window
And know
There is still life ahead for me and my world.
