All That Any Poet Can Ask For
I've written every word
I'l ever write,
all the verse
that will ever rhyme,
all the poems
that I'l ever throw away,
with the years
I've wasted my life.
and I'l close my books forever,
and I 'l pray to God as well,
that of all the poems in heaven,
just one falls to me in hell.
