All My Friends Are Dying! Poem by Dave SmithWhite

All My Friends Are Dying!

Rating: 4.8

All my friends are dying.
All my friends are gone.
I am stood here crying;
How will I carry on?

All my friends are going,
To distant planes beyond.
A grief that's past all knowing;
The last phrase of a song.

All my friends are leaving,
Hard fought battles won.
Too much time spent grieving,
Beneath a dimming sun.

All my friends departed,
The stage of life too soon;
An end as yet uncharted,
Below a bloody moon.

You know that I'm decrying,
The crueler fates unspun.
The knot of love untying;
The braids of life undone.

All my friends are dying.
But still they live in me.
Truly death-defying;
In immortal memory.
