All Dogs Go To Heaven Poem by Desiree Whitamore

All Dogs Go To Heaven

Rating: 5.0

i watched them find his vein
i couldn't face the change
the medicine in that shot
all was lost when he fought
15 seconds it was over
the leaf plucked from the clover
the luck i thought i had
was gone before i looked back
his eyes stayed open, covered by his ears
my heart stopped beating, over come by tears
its a loss i never want again
but a break i'll feel 'till the end
and there we were
he was just a body, just a coat of fur.
there are times when i will fail
but what gets me was his wagging tail
burned into my mind
is when i kissed him for the last time.
he made me feel so happy
but all i feel now is guilty
flashback to him lying there,
dead without a care
i know he's in a better place
but i wish i could see his face
all i want now is to pet him
but all dogs go to heaven
and there he'll get all the love
that i have always dreamed of.
i love you Bruno: (
