Aj's Death Aka The Shoebox Poem by wild fire

Aj's Death Aka The Shoebox

Rating: 4.5

AJ was a small unimportant soul,
barely noticed by anyone.
But yet they say 'we'll miss her terribly'
how did things get so corrupted?

AJ looks as if she's sleeping,
but no one seems to notice her at all.
In a box beneath her bed,
is the biggest of her desires.

An empty shoebox
at least that's what they think
It was filled with hope for one thing
AJ wanted a father.

Hers is alive
he sits in the front
and stares at the unfamiliar being
whom they say is his flesh and blood.

AJ wanted someone to care
She'd given up and shoved her hopes away
in that tiny shoebox
all smiles were hidden

AJ needed the hugs after school
the familiar face to wipe tears way
the voice to make her laugh
but nothing ever seemed to come

AJ is dead now just as she was to the world
no change except she possesses no breath
just silence in her casket
holding her empty shoebox
