Air Balloon Poem by Amitava Sur

Life is like an air balloon,
Looks so nice with so many colors on it’s wings.
But it is so greedy and hungry with love, lust and riches
That the more it gathers
The more it’s desires increases with time.

Though this life’s balloon is so colorful and vibrant,
It is backed up with stupidity and ignorance only.

With love, lust and riches it becomes so happy,
With them it inflates and floats merrily high above,
Forgetting mortality, responsibility and it’s limitations.

Suddenly this life finds itself in such a dizzy height
Where there is turbulence only, no way to control.
Love and lust along with riches, they are so cunning a guy,
They just abandon the life, momentarily on spot.

Poor air balloon being shrunk and squeezed
Finds it to be so miserable but none to help at that point.

Shrunken life’s paper balloon floats helplessly then
Where are those love, lust and riches, once who were with him?

Life finds … they all are laughing at from a distant place.

Though this life’s balloon is so colorful and vibrant,
It is backed up with stupidity and ignorance only.
