I bounce her
on my knee
sing songs
all day long
Drives her mother crazy!
Drives my baby wild!
“WHEN IT GETS TOO HOT
FOR COMFORT
(AND YOU CAN’T FIND ICE CREAM CONES)
T’AINT NO SIN
TO TAKE OFF YOUR SKIN
AND DANCE AROUND IN YOUR BONES! ”
Baby burps
& gurgles.
“Aghhhhh! ” says her mother!
Feed(try to feed) baby
her mashed mashed
banana
She flips with a twist of her wrist
the top of the spoon
& splat it (ooops)
gets the(meow!) cat.
She gurgles hysterically!
Drools salvia syllables!
I tell her:
“I CAN’T WHISTLE...CAN’T PLAY SAXAPHONE
BUT...”
“I LOVE BANANAS
BECAUSE THEY DONE GOT NO BONES! ”
“AGHHHH...! ” says her mother.
“Dónall..? ”
“Yes...love? ”
“Shut de... up!
