Age Poem by nikitha hingad

Age

Rating: 4.5

My days are filled with emptiness
My nights are filled with loneliness
Days and nights pass swiftly
As I live unaware lost deeply

I eat with no taste
I drink with no thirst
I sleep with no rest
I see with no feeling

My hair has turned grey like the furniture eaten by termites
My feet has turned sore and floor so dull
My heels are cracked and my roof leaks
My hands wrinkled like a pleated skirt

My age is gone.
And I lived a life
I didn't realise when
As fleeting days passed by..

A lovely depiction of stagnation of life at very low ebb, well articulated and insightfully penned with conviction. A good piece of poetry nicely written in poetic diction. Thanks for sharing Nikitha. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
