Against Myself
There are times when wars are fought
Between each and every thought
Two sides of me fight for control
Each wants me as a whole
The side that wants the best for me
It's content to let love be
It doesn't long for lust and haste
Its had it's fill with just a taste
This side holds me tight for now
It seems to win though I don't know how
It's opponent is fast and strong
And fights for what I know is wrong
This side wants pleasure, it wants fun
It wants to go till the job is done
Its been kept hard at bay
But it fights me every day
I cannot keep this up for long
When both sides are extremely strong
Only time can end this war
Only time can change the score
Until its done I will fight
Hold onto truth, hold it tight
