Against

Against the pull of worn paths,
where voices press and paths narrow,
there's a quiet edge where you stand still,
hearing a song others rush past.

Each step feels heavy, the ground unsure,
but in the weight, you find your shape,
and what seemed resistance
becomes a rhythm that is finally yours.
