After Work Poem by Jason Stoneking

After Work

I no longer wonder
what goes on in the offices.
I've seen that when
the people leave those places,
their eyes are dead glass
on the buses and trains.
Their voices are beaten
in the bars and cafes.
They don't even want
to go home anymore.
They don't see what
anything is worth, and
they no longer wonder
what I'm doing, so I
no longer wonder
how they got that way.
