After The Rain Poem by Reva Kern

After The Rain

After the rain,
Sunlight spills
On the front window -
A treetop casts
Mottled shadows -
A speck appears
In an empty sky -
A small bird
Streaks by, startled
By a drop of water
Falling from the
Tip of a branch -
With a cool breeze,
A leaf slowly drifts down
Onto a quiet path -
A foot traveler appears
Walking hurriedly
Treading on wet rocks
Like a light-hearted
Musical composition -
Rain clears the air of dust
Like a broom sweeping away
Life's worries -
All creation comes back to life
Thriving, flourishing
The world is reflected
In a shadow on the front window
I feel like a queen
Watching the world.
