Accept Me Poem by Brandon Smith

Accept Me

I am I
Do not change me
Condemn me nor put me down
Accept me for what I am
No, you need not agree with me
But accept me
I have my faults and I have my guilts
But that is only who I am
Perfect is something I will never be
Allow me to be uninhibited
Do not persuade me into feeling
What I do not feel
Accept me when I am flying high
As I have accepted you
When you were flying high
Do not insult me
Nor make me feel unhappy
I am I
And I enjoy being what I am

Interesting poem.. I wrote this in high school around 1985 or 1986. I can't remember if it's mine or I copied this to paper back then.. Shame on you for claiming it to be yours...
