Abuse Poem by Tim Shao

Abuse

Rating: 5.0

I am being hit, again and again,
He’s using his hand; bruises everywhere,
Now just normality, I feel no pain,
If I died from this, no one would care.

As I sleep this night, I think in my head,
How much longer is this going to last?
Every day is a day that a dread,
Every beating is a reminder of the past.

I come home from school; I’ve made up my mind,
To forget all the past, to start life anew.
With all my thoughts and willpower combined,
I walk into the shed, to do what I have to.

Around my neck, I tie a piece of string,
Now I just wait, to see what death will bring.
