Absurd Dreams Poem by Cathryn Adeli

Absurd Dreams

Absurd dreams of automobiles and washing machines
Concieved in lust, pride and greed.
Where are we going so shinning and new
What do we want, what do we need
What kind of machine will clean the smell
of rot and decay in souls, flesh and dreams

Johnny back and lemonade, warm the night and cool the day
No way to return, one way, no other.
Annihilation ain't far.

Ashamed my cheeks burn
Love of mother, daughter, wife lost in a dsitortion of lies
In fog, beauty and art hides
White snow drifts to black ice
Annihilation ain't far.

The joker, a jester on his knees, smiles for justice he begs
It ain't right the American Way
Absurd! let the show n hell go on.
Annihilation ain't far

The usher hands tickets for a dime or all
Fools dance, fall, no roots for balance
Music is dead. Stike out the band.
Actors fill the stage, all have a part, just read your page.
Annihilation ain't far.

Jump through the hoop
Dance out of the loop
Who wants to be a star
Who wants to swing on it
All together now
Annihilation ain't far, ain't far

Dreams are always absurd. Sometimes we can do so easily in dreams what we cann't do in our real life. A good write, Cathryn. Best Regards Naseer
