Absinthe... Poem by roshini samuel

Absinthe...

Rating: 5.0

verde antiqued and bottled.
victims i choose not.
click of cork i hear,
seductivly i soar.

Debouching into your
bohemian crystals.
I see you light your sugar cubes.
Water over the burning lumps
you undermine the power of herbs and spice.

one dram will you take,
and you leave your inhibitions behind.
At first, you laugh and float
and think of this fluid chartreuse as benign.

you'll think you're king
and im your minion.
so did picasso and wild whose veins
I've flowed through.
.
I will reign over your mind with all of devils might.
Vile and putrid in all my forms, you'll
beg me to leave with fright.

morn arrives and you find yourself robbed or naked on the floor.
Even murdered but your not sure anymore.
No trace of last night to reckon with and you loath me, once more
but thats the price you must pay, to welcome me to your abode.

Quite amazing is the way you have approached a very unique concept with your poem. Click of a cork I hear, seductively I soar... Lovely!
