Abasement Unchallenged... Poem by Dorothy Kardas, Psy.D. Th.D.

Abasement Unchallenged...

Fed on heavy bread
Of incalculable ill-treatment...
Taking on silence -
Not defending Self...
Drinking the Cup
Of unpalatable accusations,
Relentless molestations...
Lowly Taker of the pitiless darts
Of spiteful ridicule, jealousy...
And distrustful leprosy...

Am I earnest to greet
At His bloody Feet?

Fed on heavy bread
Of glacial oblivion
Sufferer victimized...
Brutalized, barbarized...
Still, as an outsider rejected,
Insistently re-victimized...
Mercilessly unrecognized...
Day by day omitted, mistreated,
Overlooked and minimized...
Eagerly turning the other cheek...

What else shall time breed?
Hanging to His pierced Feet...

Fed on heavy bread
Day by day despised
Woefully persecuted
And marginalized
The Savior
Of humankind
Undisguised...

Dr. Kardas, This is poetry at its best! ! ! that inspires and invigorates the soul and the intellect. Deeply penetrating words and ideas of a bold and analytical thinker based on eternal theological truths. Perfect title when speaking so powerfully of the PERFECT SACRIFICE OF CHRIST... happening to this day. The seriousness of this message is tugging at my heartstrings. Thank you for reminding us of the God-given means for our sanctification. Love, Gloria 10! ! ! ! P.S. Can't wait to share this poem!

Dear Dr. Kardas, This poem is a spiritual feast that NO ONE can afford to miss! A work of provocative erudition that is simply the best we have found in the realm of TRUTH POETRY. Each line must be seriously pondered over, for each contains great wisdom and insight about the way our present generation is failing Christ, and 'insistently re-victimizes', Mercilessly unrecognizes', His great Love and Mercy. Truly sensational messages that provoke strong reaction and powerful emotion. Thank you for another great addition to our Christian Readers' Discussion Circle. God bless.... Dr. Kardas, This superbly written poem recaptures the unsurpassed greatness of Christ's sacrifice, and our lack of gratitude or apathy for this unparalleled act of divine love and mercy. We need to have also the willingness to suffer for the truth for which Christ died, accept gratefully this all-encompassing sacrifice, and be restless for something far better or something more complete that transforms, uplifts and truly liberates us. We can't ever be grateful enough for Christ's sacrifice! As always, you write with careful reasoning and relevance, and your words are truly mighty swords! 10!

Dear Dr. Kardas, Another great poem with highly penetrating and timeless insights! Christ came to share in our humanity and died for us so that all of us could become partakers of his divinity. Our sacrificial posture is absolutely necessary in changing this morally confused, disorganized and pluralistic world from which something 'deep has been removed'. May God continue to bless you and your work... You are poetically gifted! Love, Eve 10!

To model our life on our Lord's Cross, remaining in His presence in total surrender and attentiveness to Him regardless of how painful are the circumstances is our Christian duty and task. Dr. you definitely produce powerful and original poetic works that have deep and insightful spiritual content, and because of it they become immortal! Thanks again!

Dear Dr. Kardas, One of the most moving poems I've read... How sad that so many repay by total ingratitude, apathy or minimal gratitude for everything Christ has done for each and all of us! ! ! Yes! the image of holding onto His Bloody Feet is extremely helpful, and the challenge to follow Him and not betray Him, especially when experiencing persecutions, injustice and all sorts of pain is the key, it really tests the realness of our faith. Thank you so much... Love, Renia & family

Christ's ultimate sacrifice on the CROSS is the summit and source of ALL that is GOOD! 'Am I earnest to greet at His Bloody Feet? ' and 'What else shall time breed? ' Hanging to His Pierced Feet'... mighty powerful questions to heed! Yes...to follow HIM UNCONDITIONALLY....This is what I call an empathic and mighty pen! Thanks again Doc!
