A Young Person's World Poem by Francis Duggan

A Young Person's World

To the scythe of Life's Reaper the aged have to fall
It surely is a young person's World after all
Most ageing people can only talk of the past
And recall their younger days that did not last
Age can bring a lack of passion for life and a lack of sexual desire
And ageing muscles are sagging and are quick to tire
Great athletes in their twenties in their eighties walking slow
An aged one cannot run fast as everyone know
Ageing it is beyond all human control
Time as is said on all life forms take toll
Homo Sapiens like all other life forms are born to die
Immortality for human beings is based on a lie
To the scythe of life's Reaper the aged have to fall
It surely is a young person's World after all.
