A World Out There Poem by Calsey Wauters

A World Out There

thirteen years old. april 14,2011.
a world out there.

here we go,
come with me,
there's a world out there
that we should see.
let's go to the beach,
take my hand,
look into the glimmering water,
feel your feet in the damp sand.
let's go to the park,
run through the trees,
watch kids play on the swings,
hear the hum of passing bees.
let's go to a restaurant,
wait for the smell of food to fill our noses,
sip on some coffee,
sit back while i give you handpicked roses.
let's go to the garden,
look at the colorful plants,
sniff the flowers,
as i hold your hands and dance.
here we go,
come with me,
there's a world out there
that we have seen.
