A Woman Poem by Kakoli Choudhury

A Woman

A bud on bloom,
Pampered by the sunshine,
Shielded by the starlit sky,
Versed by the dozen dew drops.
She giggles with the breeze,
And mingles in the beat.
Maturing under the warm shadows,
To a flower with dreams.

But a day, she is plucked;
To showcase an alien vase.
Attend to husband, tender her child
Burdened with the family teasures.
She now has to mind the pains,
Her burdened tear evaporates
Into thick clouds of metamorphosis.

The shadows fall apart,
Her airiness framed in the past,
For she is a woman at last,
A flower to breed the world...! ! !
