A Way To Escape Poem by Liz Contreras

A Way To Escape

Everyday a new mark appears
when your forced in a house of demons
fighting different battles as a new day appears
you put on a smile
a disguise for the blind
when deep inside your bleeding full of pain and agony
you try to run away from it all
which only leads you to this
a hurtful life that no one will miss
so you take your things and walk into darkness
when the light would of been better
taking drugs and drinking
your pour yourself to sleep
for no one cared is how you felt deep inside
while in your heart your truly torn
no drug or drink can cure you
so you take the knife to your wrist
hoping to GOD that he forgives you for this
as your body fills with a burning sting
leaving blood surrounding every inch of your body
that takes you to your death
so as I'm standing here in front of you
I take a good look into your blacken eyes
and all I see is a demon as well
just as I do when I look into theirs

Powerful and well-done! Excellent use of darkness...
