A Wave's Dilemma Poem by Shipra Agarwal

A Wave's Dilemma

With one for his unfathomable depth,
his ever-changing surface and never-changing core.

With another for his silent simplicity,
his never-complaining eyes and ever-welcoming door.

She is in love with them both -
the proud sea and the humble shore.

Who does she belong to?
The shore, that can't hold her forever?
Or the sea, that never even tries to?

Who should she stay with?
The shore, that calms down her mad rage?
Or the sea, that laughs along with her crazily?

Who should she choose?
The known certainty of the shore?
Or the unknown challenge of the sea?

and how? and how?
