A Walk To Remember Poem by Kellyn, A Grau

A Walk To Remember

Let’s take a walk back to the past
Open our eyes to what was once so strong
Remember the days when we were good friends
And would laugh about the stupidest things
Now walk a little further into the past
Remember the way we felt for once another
Remember how we use to tell each other everything
You stole my heart so easily
And I wanted nothing more than for us to be
But fear ripped you from my arms
And the past became so blurry
The times when only you could make me smile
Had fallen into a shadows of a lost memory
The days when my heart would be shattered
You’d put it together and brush me off so carefully
But where were you when my life broke in too
Where was my hero who always knew what to do?
Now the past is done and you added scars to
The only one I thought never possible of doing
Was the one that broke my heart completely
So now the present is before us
And there’s time to take a better look at things
Open up your eyes and see what your fear did to us
How it pushed you away from me and left me in the shadows
Condemned by pain and sorrow I walked alone
Took on no burdens but those of my own
Aloud no one to ease into my heart
And thoughts of love had almost vanished from sight
One word was only spoken, one simple little remark
The title played of sorry was now cursed upon your lips
But do you mean those healing words
Or have you simply slapped them on in your voice?
I waited for you, and never gave up hope
But your heart appeared to fade away
So with time I moved on and gave up on you
So many days I would have given anything to see your face
But it was like those wonderful memories were simply an illusion
You’ve walked back in the doors of fait
Perhaps to stay a little longer this time
Given the past it’s hard to understand what’s real anymore
But my hearts willing to give you a second chance
Redeem your self and show me your intentions are true
Don’t let fear control you and embrace everything you knew
Old feelings die hard and are resurrected by sight
I can see it in your eyes and I can’t help buy bite
My tongue to whisper how much I’ve missed you
I won’t admit it but I know you’re still scared
Your heart beat increases by the touch of my hand
Your smile never ends by my eyes locked on yours
And one creeps up my face as I take this all in
Please promise me you’ll never leave again
Because I can’t take that pain once more
I can’t stand back and watch you walk out that door
So remember what once was and understand how you feel
Because I can see it in your eyes your emotions never died
